Ways to Give

Planned Giving

Thank you for your interest in the Bald Head Island Legacy Foundation. By joining the legacy foundation, you are ensuring continuing support of the Conservancy’s mission of conservation, preservation and education for many years to come.

What is Planned Giving?

A planned gift is a gift generally made upon the donor’s death as part of the donor’s estate planning. Thus, supporters of the Bald Head Island Conservancy can gift a portion of their estate to the Conservancy in their Will or Trust.

Why Choose Planned Giving?

In addition to reducing estate tax, planned giving is personally rewarding. Your planned gift is a way to leave your legacy for future generations and helps provide security for the future of the Bald Head Island Conservancy.

How to Join the Bald Head Island Legacy Foundation:

The process is easy and can be done by simply asking your lawyer to include a legacy gift to the Conservancy in your estate planning documents.  After you have established your gift and executed your estate planning documents, please send the Conservancy written notice of your intent to make a legacy gift.

Once you join the Bald Head Island Legacy Foundation you will be recognized privately by your membership to our foundation and publicized through our website should you choose.

For more information on Planned Giving please contact the Chief Development Officer, Melissa Blackmon.

“To leave a legacy donation will ensure that this valuable work of the Conservancy will continue in the future. This gift we have been given, this unique island, needs to be preserved and protected for the enjoyment of future generations”

– Kathy and Bob Ketels, Life Members
