The work of the Bald Head Island Conservancy relies on strong partnerships in our mission to Discover, Learn, Conserve, and Preserve on Bald Head Island. Our generous corporate sponsors join us each year in supporting and caring for this beautiful island.
Discover
We are involved in more research than ever before, furthering our exploration of BHI and the ecosystems that it houses through surveys and field work.
Learn
We aim to provide cross generational environmental education through our education department’s extensive programs and our internships.
Conserve
We patrol the beaches of Bald Head Island nightly from 9 PM – 6 AM collecting data and identifying nesting female sea turtles, as well as monitoring and protecting their nests and hatchlings.
Preserve
We sponsor and facilitate scientific research that benefits and protects the species of BHI and coastal communities throughout the Cape Fear Coast.
