Bald Head Island Conservancy offers a fun and educational activity for families to enjoy together with their Family Beach Fishing program. This program is designed to give families a hands-on fishing experience and teach them modern and traditional fishing techniques such as rod & reel and seine nets.
Participants in the Family Beach Fishing program will learn about the local fish species, how to handle and release fish properly, and will have the opportunity to catch and release fish while enjoying a beautiful day at the beach. The program is open to anyone 10 years and older, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
It is important to note that anyone over the age of 16 who wishes to participate in program-related fishing activities must possess and have on hand an NC Fishing License. This ensures that participants are in compliance with local fishing regulations and that they can legally engage in fishing activities during the program.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner, the Family Beach Fishing program is a great way to spend a fun and educational day with your family while learning about local marine life and the importance of responsible fishing practices.
Meet at Beach Access 1. All equipment and bait are provided. Registration ends 60 minutes prior to program start time.
