JULES’ Salty Grub & Island Pub has supported the Bald Head Island Conservancy as a silver level sponsor in 2023. Owner Jules Showalter has been a long time BHI resident, entering the restaurant business after being a stay-at-home mom for 14 years. Her vision for the island is for it to continue to maintain its beauty and non-commercialization, and to preserve the island environment so it may be a place for people to relax and enjoy peace and respite.
Located at the heart of the Bald Head Island Marina in Bald Head Island, North Carolina, JULES’ opened its doors on October 8, 2019. JULEs’ is Bald Head Island’s only waterfront dining experience. The restaurant is a neighborhood hangout spot, as well as a harbor dining escape for island locals, guests, and their pets with its pet-friendly deck.
JULES’ menu is a mix of southern favorites and seafood with a coastal flair, offering a variety of specials, vegetarian and gluten-free items, and quality comfort food. They offer outstanding wines by the glass or specialty wines by the bottle, specialty cocktails, icy cold local craft and domestic beers. JULES’ has a relaxing, warm and friendly atmosphere, where families and friends can gather together and enjoy great food. The staff, many of which are long-time employees, take pride in offering hospitality to those who visit BHI and those who call the island their home.
