Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Conservancy with a Low Down Throw Down

Celebrate the end of the season with family fun, island style.

With the lower humidity and cooler breezes, fall is in the air, and the Conservancy is reflecting on an amazing season hosting visitors from around the country to share in the beauty of Bald Head Island.

To celebrate all the work that’s been done—and those who made that work possible—we are excited to present the Low Down Throw Down Shrimp Boil on Saturday, October 14 from 4pm-6pm at the BHIC campus (700 Federal Road).

This event will bring the BHIC family together to feast on the bounty of our coastal region with a traditional shrimp boil, including all the fixin’s, along with other sides, desserts, and libations.  There will be family games like bocce ball and cornhole, musical fun, and opportunities to learn how you can connect with the Conservancy through various programs and activities. There will even be a birthday cake to celebrate BHIC’s 40th year of serving our community!

The Low Down Throw Down is a laid-back affair for our island neighbors to bask in the glow of a glorious autumn evening with family and friends. Tickets for this event are available through the BHIC website: $35 for adults, $20 for kids ages 3-12, and kids under 3 are free.

If you are a Life Member or volunteered with BHIC in 2023, you have received an email invitation to the event with special ticket information. Please contact development@bhic.org for more details.
