Girls Gone Fishing

Content Image
Based on our popular Kids Marsh Crabbing & Fishing program, Girls Gone Fishing is an exciting program for girls aged 5-12 years old to get hands-on fishing and crabbing experience! They will learn both modern and traditional fishing techniques like rod & reel, hand-lining, and cast-netting on the marsh. This program provides a unique opportunity for girls to learn about the importance of conservation and protection of the local ecosystem while having fun and learning new skills. No previous experience is required for this program, and all gear, including rods, reels, bait, and nets, will be provided. All girls must be accompanied by an adult, who can join in the program at no additional fee. Anyone over the age of 16 who wishes to participate in program-related fishing activities must possess and have on hand an NC Fishing License. Please meet at the Village Creek Access on Federal Road, near Old Baldy. All equipment and bait are provided.
